As you know by now, we are adding something new to this conference and it is the participation by students. Students who are studying to be our future colleagues. We all recognize the importance of mentoring and encouraging the next generation within our industry. It is never too early to start the conversations or create the networking opportunities. We welcome student participation in this conference where students will perform for us and also present in one of our professional development sessions. Drexel University students will present What’s Happening? Experiences of Real-Time Feedback in Arts Education and recent graduates of the Carnegie Mellon University Master of Arts Management program will present their capstone thesis research on Audience Development: Going Outside of Your Comfort Zone.
In addition to the student portion we have many other topics and professional development sessions that will intrigue you. From Marketing Smarter to Community Engagement for Presenting Jazz and Let’s Get Interactive: Engaging Audiences through Disruptive Technologies to Social Media is Everywhere and one topic that I am closer to than I want to admit….Gray is the New Gold, Discovering the Value of Aging Audiences. I find this topic fascinating and if you do too, you can read more about it at http://www.oac.ohio.gov/News-Events/ArtsOhio-Blog/PostId/12/gray-is-the-new-gold-discovering-the-value-of-our-aging-audiences.
So, yes! – There is something for everyone and PA Presenters is once again providing valuable information and cutting edge material to help their members move forward in this every changing and challenging business.
