| Former Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Ridge, received the Sidney R. Yates Advocay Award from the Association of Performing Arts Presenters. The presentation was made during the 2002 conference in January with a large contingent of current and former members of PA Presenters there to congratulate him. To the far right of the above photo is Philip Horn, executive director of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, who had the privilege of presenting the award to Gov. Ridge, now director of U.S. Homeland Security. On Ridge's immediate left is James Woland, director of PCA's Presenting Program. To Ridge's immediate right, is PA Presenters member, Ellis Finger of Lafayette College and the winner of APAP's 2002 William Dawson Award for Programmatic Excellence. |
Benefits of Membership
Communication With Your Colleagues
PA Presenters holds regularly scheduled meetings. At every gathering you will find a multitude of networking opportunities with Presenter colleagues, share concerns and visions, and collect invaluable ideas.
The Fall meeting focuses on the sharing of booking ideas, with additional sessions which focus on a relevant topic or issue. This meeting is typically held in a central location in the state.
PA Presenters annual Networking Conference takes place in the Spring. The larger and more relaxed time-frame offers opportunities for broad investigation of important issues. The conference is typically held in Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, and almost always includes showcases of quality Pennsylvania artists, and occasionally, regional performers.
Meetings are also held at the annual Performing Arts Exchange and Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) conferences.
Quarterly Newsletter
PRESENTING, the quarterly newsletter of PA Presenters, keeps members informed of the activities of the organization and of colleagues, as well as news from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and regional funding and arts organizations.
Professional Development
Pennsylvania Presenters has travel funds available for members to attend conferences and performances.
Click here to view the guidelines and application form for the Presenters Travel Fund.
This fund has been depleted for 2006. Please contact Jim Woland, the Presenting Organizations Program Director for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, directly for travel Assistance at this time.

Consortium Projects
Collaboration is what PA Presenters is all about. Members of PA Presenters network at meetings, and informally throughout the year, to discuss artists and companies in order to creatively develop consortium projects.
Resource Guide
PA Presenters produces an on-line directory of the membership of PA Presenters to assist members in keeping in contact with colleagues.
Artist and Manager Affiliates
Since 1996 PA Presenters has offered Artists and Arts Managers/Agents the opportunity to become Affiliates of PA Presenters. Affiliates do not vote and may not serve on the Board of Directors, but they are invited to and welcome at all PA Presenters' meetings which are not specifically discussions of scheduling and booking. Affiliates receive the organizations membership directory, its newsletter, PRESENTING, and the very real opportunity for increased communication with presenters throughout the Commonwealth and region.
