Founded in 1809, Walnut Street Theatre is the oldest continuously operating theatre in the United States. This venerable institution has become a staple of Philadelphia and America's theater community. Some of America's most legendary performers have graced its stage, including Ethel Barrymore, Marlon Brando, Sidney Poitier, Helen Hayes and Kathryn Hepburn.
